This research study is designed to look at the usefulness of imaging studies and biomarker tests, together with measurements of memory, thinking, and daily functioning, in the future conduct of studies that will focus on the identification and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease at an early stage. This study aims to produce data to be stored for these kinds of future research studies. This study will look at three different groups of volunteers:
- Normal Control group : volunteers with no apparent memory problems that will be studied for 36 months;
- MCI Group: volunteers with mild memory problems (referred to in this study as “mild cognitive impairment” or MCI) that will be studied for 36 months; and
- Alzheimer’s disease group : volunteers with mild Alzheimer’s disease that will be studied for 24 months.
Each participant must have a study partner who can accompany them to all clinic visits.
